BOS for Laboratories

Precision in the lab.
And in the numbers.

Clinical, industrial or testing: nothing transcribed twice to invoice, no rejected claim or test left uninvoiced, and a clear view of which agreement or client leaves you margin.

The test order is entered in the technical system and transcribed into the billing spreadsheet. Each agreement’s price list is out of date, health insurer rejections and corporate clients’ tests go uninvoiced, and reagent stock is eyeballed until one runs out.
What changes in practice
Transcribing to invoice: 2 days/week
0
with invoicing coming from the test order, not a spreadsheet
Rejections not rebilled: 14%
3%
with every rejection logged with its reason and deadline
Collections from insurers and clients: 55 days
36 days
with submissions, payments and debt by agreement or by client in view

How it rolls out

A roadmap for your company.

You don’t need to migrate everything on day one. This is how most companies in the industry move forward once they start with BOS.

PHASE 1 · GET ORGANIZED

Orders, agreements and price lists.

Every order — from a patient or a corporate client — with its agreement and current price in one place. Price lists are updated once and apply everywhere.

PHASE 2 · FRICTIONLESS BILLING

From test order to payment.

Invoicing that comes straight from the test order, rejections logged with a reason so you can rebill on time, and the account status of every health insurer, prepaid health plan or corporate client always clear.

PHASE 3 · AURORA TAKES THE LEAD

It flags things before you ask.

Aurora follows up on late payments, flags which agreement stopped being profitable and warns you when a reagent drops below minimum stock.

The full picture

From test order
to agreement collected.

For clinical, biochemical, industrial and testing laboratories: technical operations connected to administration — without transcribing anything twice.

From sample to invoice, no gaps

Every analysis or test linked to its client, its order and its invoice.

Prices always current

One price list per agreement or client, updated in one place: every order picks up the current price.

Audits without assembling binders

A log of every change — who, when and what — and sensitive data with stricter access.

Invoicing without transcribing

Every order with its client, agreement and price; invoicing comes from the test order, not a spreadsheet.

Reagents that don’t run out

Reagent stock with a minimum per item and an automatic alert before you run out.

What each insurer or client owes you

Submissions, payments and rejections by health insurer, prepaid health plan or corporate client — collectible debt kept separate from deferred.

Licenses and agreements, at hand

Licenses, agreements and certificates filed by type, and Aurora reads and reconciles them.

Questions without tying up the front desk

Patient and client questions on WhatsApp: order status, fasting or sample-shipping requirements, locations and hours.

Which agreement leaves you margin

Profitability by agreement and by client, invoiced vs. collected and what’s still outstanding — live.

After-sales and loyalty

The result goes out.
The relationship continues.

Referring physicians, returning patients and the companies that send samples every month keep the lab’s volume up. BOS tracks where each order comes from and when to reach out again.

After-sales on results

Repeat tests, complaints and follow-up tests with their status and reason, tied to the original order.

Patients and clients who come back

Frequency by patient, by client and by agreement; follow-up tests are reminded automatically on WhatsApp.

The relationship with referrers

Which physician or company refers, how much and since when — the referrer is a client too.

Technical capabilities

The foundations that protect
your company’s data.

1

Each lab’s data is kept separate from every other account in the database itself, not just on screen. If something fails, access closes — it doesn’t open.

2

Role-based permissions, enforced at four points, from the screen to the database: each person sees and does only what’s theirs to do. Payroll and billing are stored separately, with stricter access.

3

Sign in with your Microsoft or Google account, with two-step verification, and every session is protected and renewed securely.

4

Infrastructure on Supabase (SOC 2 Type 2, encryption at rest, backups with point-in-time recovery) and Vercel (ISO 27001:2022, SOC 2 Type II, DDoS/WAF mitigation) — certifications held by our infrastructure providers, not by BOS as a product.

5

For regulated cases, BOS can operate under HIPAA through specific configuration and a contractual agreement (BAA) with the data provider, with an audit log of every sensitive access.

6

Connects with the systems you already use through a public API and signed automatic notifications (webhooks): it doesn’t force you to replace them — it runs the business around them.

No strings attached

Use what works for you. Nothing more.

Every module is customizable, and its features can be used partly or fully: none of them is mandatory. You can use BOS just as a task planner and leave the rest alone — it stays available, included in the same subscription, for the day you need it.

Frequently asked questions

What people always ask.

Does BOS replace our laboratory information system (LIS)?
It doesn’t force you to. The lab system can stay where it is — BOS connects via API and runs the administration: orders, agreements, price lists, invoicing, health insurers, clients and supplies.
Does it handle rejections and rebilling?
Yes. Every rejection is logged with its reason and deadline, so you can rebill on time and see which agreement is hurting you.
Does it work for an industrial or testing lab?
Yes. Each test comes in as an order from the corporate client, with its agreement and price; the invoice comes from the order and each client’s running account stays in view. Reagents get a minimum stock and automatic alerts, just like in a clinical lab.
How is sensitive data protected?
Each lab’s data is kept separate from any other account in the database itself, with role-based permissions and stricter access for sensitive data. For regulated cases, BOS can operate under HIPAA with a contractual agreement (BAA).
How long does implementation take?
Most start by organizing orders and price lists (Phase 1) and add invoicing to health insurers or clients and Aurora later.
